About the event
Important
We are currently working on the exact event location and details, but you can register your interest to participate in the event. If you do so, we will put you on our distribution list regarding the event updates and you will have your spot guaranteed once the registration opens. This will help us gauge the interest in the event and plan the capacity. Note that the number of participants will be limited to ensure first class hands-on experience!
Event information
Two-day intensive workshop on the use of longsword and dussack based on the system of 16th century fencing mastery Joachim Meyer.
Workshop will be led by Petr Turya, founder of the Fencers guild - a premier European fencing organization based in Czechia.
One day of the workshop (Saturday) will cover the longsword, while the second (Sunday) will be dedicated to the dussack.
Exact schedule will be provided closer to the event, but we are looking for classes to start at 10am and end at 6pm on both days.
Workshop is intended for practitioners with previous fencing experience and is NOT recommended for beginners.Â
If you are new to the historical fencing, we recommend signing up to the regular classes at Signum Corvus School of Arms or other HEMA club in your neighbourhood.Â
Required equipment
Participants are expected to bring their own fencing equipment - longsword, mask, gloves, gorget. Fencing jacket is not required. Signum Corvus School of Arms will have limited number of practice longsword trainers available for those interested.
Wooden dussack trainers will also be available. Please let us know when you register if you would want to borrow either longsword or dussack trainers.
